Lawrence Augustus Washington, known formally as L. A. Washington was hired by the city of Paducah in 1904 to become the city engineer. His daughter was named Leslie Ann Washington. Leslie was also L. A. Washington. She was born a Washington and married a Washington.
The home was built in 1895. The homeowners were the descendents of George Washington's beloved half brother from his father's 1st marriage. George did not have any biological children.
